Educational Activities for Students
At Mwebaza, we believe the best way to understand our interconnected world is through real connection.
We started by linking students in Colorado and Uganda as pen pals, and today we work in classrooms on both sides of the world, teaching global citizenship lessons and exchanging the art students make during these lessons.
Whether you’re looking for homeschool activities for kids or seeking supplemental curriculum for elementary school students, this page provides resources to bring a global perspective into your home—using Uganda and East Africa as a lens to explore what it means to be a global citizen.
what is a global citizen (n)?
According to the United Nations, a global citizen is “a person who believes that every individual around the world is a member of multiple, diverse, local and non-local networks rather than single actors affecting isolated societies”. With this mindset, global citizens work to promote sustainable development, embrace social responsibility, and to act on the benefit of all societies as a whole.
